Baynes, Mattie Josephine Stanley (Dalton)

Mattie Josephine Stanley Baynes, 87, of Dalton, GA, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at her residence. 

She was the daughter of the late Dave and Frankie Ledford Stanley; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Grady Baynes; brothers, Loyd Stanley, Troy Stanley and Charlie Stanley; and sisters, Martha Flowers and Mamie Callahan. 

Mattie was a member of Northside Church of Christ in Calhoun. She is survived by her son and special daughter-in-law, Gerald and DyAnn Baynes of Dalton; sisters, Christine Hendricks of Dalton, Effie and Odis Johnson of Chatsworth; sisters-in-law, Lillian Stanley and Mable Baynes Cruse both of Dalton; brother-in-law, Bob Callahan of Dalton; grandchildren, Jason and Jodi Baynes, Michelle (Baynes) and Eric Shuler; great-grandchildren, Erica Shuler and Rebekah Mozingo; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 17 in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with minister Terry York and minister Kent Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope-Kilgore Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home Saturday, November 16 from 5-9 p.m. 

Love funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton (across from Hamilton Medical Center) is in charge of arrangements.
