Election Commission Accepting Resumes For Election Administrator

The Election Commission has begun accepting applications for appointment as the new election administrator.

Charlotte Mullis-Morgan is retiring effective Feb. 4.

The deadline to apply is Monday, Nov. 25, at 4 p.m.

The commission will meet Wednesday, Dec. 4, to review the list of candidates.

Chairman Mike Walden said the commission will like pare down the list to 3-5 candidates to interview.

One requirement is to be a resident of Hamilton County.

Ms. Mullis-Morgan said several applications had already come in.

Republicans hold a 3-2 margin on the commission.

Commissioner Jerry Summers said it is up to the election administrator to appoint all staff, including the top assistant.

Scott Allen is the top assistant to Ms. Mullis-Morgan. His late grandfather, Bud Knowles, was the prior election administrator.
