Samuel Lynn Royse, 57, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his home from his battle with cancer.

Samuel was beloved husband, father and brother. He served in the United States Marine Corps as  Lance Corporal. Samuel worked in the restaurant business for many years as a cook for Red Lobster and Ryan’s. He was a chef in the Marine Corps and served Generals during his service. Samuel loved making handmade ships, and has been seen on the news.

Samuel was preceded in death by his parents, Lynden Claire Royse and Joyce Ann Yvonne Crain  Hicks; brother, Robert Wayne Royse; sister Ruby Mae Carden; grandfather, Samuel Ralph Crain and grandmother, Callie Mae Crain.

Samuel is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Royse; two daughters, Jessica Magan Royse and Lashonda Mae Royse; two sisters, Cheryl Ann Shipley and Deborah Bernice Stowe; brother, Raymond Paul Royse; grandchildren, Colton Michael Brock and Cameron Alexander Williams; several nieces and nephews. Several great nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Friday, Dec. 13, from 2-9 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel and Saturday, Dec. 14, from 12 p.m.until time of service.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p..m on Saturday, Dec. 14, in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Grant Blaylock officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are by the Chattanooga Funeral Home Crematory and Florist, North Chapel, Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
