Duaine Long, 64, of Ooltewah, died on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.

He was born in Chattanooga on July 14, 1948, and graduated from East Ridge High School. He later received his undergraduate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and his MBA from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Duaine was retired from the State of Tennessee where he was an employment assessor team member for the Volkswagen facility.  Previously he was the human resources director at Siskin Hospital.

He was a member of Silverdale Baptist Church where he served as an usher and taught along side of his wife, the Single Parents Class at Church. He was also a past president of the Pastoral Care Organization in the Chattanooga Area. Duaine was involved in Tres Dias of Southeast Tennessee where he attended weekend #18.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Long.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Yvonne Long, five daughters, Angie (Mark) Wilkins, Stefanie Long, all of Rossville, Melanie Long, of Fort Oglethorpe, Mistie (Michael) Clements, of Birchwood, Tn., Natalie (Jeremy) Moore, of Fort Oglethorpe, 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, mother,Treva Long of Chattanooga; brother, Nick (Jeri) Long, sister, Kim (Tim) Samples, all of Nashville, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, at Silverdale Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Walliser officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Kit Smith, Eddie Rawlston, Gil Moon, Raymond Kendrick, Jeff Dean and Rev. Chuck Patrick serving as pallbearers. Ron Baldwin and Jerry Odum will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
