Alfred Ammons, Jr.

Alfred Ammons, Jr., 49, died on February 19, 2013 at a local hospital. 

A Chattanooga native, he was born April 7, 1963 and graduated from Notre Dame High School.

He was a longtime employee of the City of Chattanooga and Mercury Taxi Service. He was also a member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Mae and Alfred Ammons, Sr.

Survivors include brothers, Sir DeWayne Ammons, Chattanooga, Michael Ammons, Baltimore; niece and nephews, Ashley, Ashton and D’eCarri Ammons; uncle, Joe Louis (Julia) Ammons, Los Angeles; special friend, Cora Garth.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, 813 Dodson Ave., at noon with Pastor Archie C. Griffin, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Ruth Cofer Cemetery on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
