Burton, Ray (Wildwood)

Ray Burton, 75, of Wildwood, Georgia, died on Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home.

He retired from Industrial Plating and renovated homes, enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with his family.  He was of the Baptist faith.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Dan Thomas and Rosalie Burton, brother, Alvie Burton and sisters, Wilma Burton and Clorine Sanders.

Survivors include his sons, Roger (Debra) Burton and Phillip Burton, daughter, Sherry Burton, sisters, Opal Virginia Austin and Janice (Jimmy) Mashburn, brothers, Marvin and Melvin Burton and Buford (Nan) Burton and three grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 13, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with the Reverend David Cox officiating.  Burial will follow at the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Pisgah, Ala.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory at the end of Historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
