Johnny Wesley Tripp, 36, died on June 2, 2013.  

He graduated with an associate's degree in Computer Programming from Chattanooga State Community College.  He was employed by Volkswagen Group of America and a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and stepfather, Pastor John Wesley Trip and Pastor Samuel J. Shaw.

Survivors include his mother, Ernestine Shaw; siblings, Paula Thompson, Sharon Tripp, Tammy Greene, Jimmie Greene; two nieces, four nephews, two great-nephews, all of Chattanooga.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 16, at Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Reginald Poindexter officiating.  Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.

The body will lie in state after noon on Saturday, June 15, and the family will receive friends from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
