The Theatre Arts department of Dalton State College invites area playwrights to submit their original scripts, one or a couple of which will be produced at Dalton State next fall.

Jackie Daniels, Assistant Professor of Communication and Theatre, will direct the production just as she did last fall’s original production of Muscadine Wine written by Dr. Nancy Mason, Assistant Professor of Spanish at Dalton State.

“That was an extremely exciting process, and we are anxious to receive a new batch of plays for review and consideration,” said Daniels.

“We are seeking an unproduced new play or plays with a run time of one and a half to two hours,” Daniels said. “If one-act plays are submitted, only one set can be used, and set changes between plays would have to be minimal,” she added.

Serving on the script review committee with Daniels are Dr. Jonathan Lampley, Ms. Cheryl Larsen, Ms. Regina Ray, Dr. Lorena Sins, and Dr. Jennifer Randall, all faculty members from the Department of Humanities at Dalton State.

Scripts and questions can be submitted electronically to Daniels at jldaniels@daltonstate.edu.
