Chattanooga Web Firm Takes LPGA To Spanish-Speaking Fans

  • Thursday, June 6, 2013

Sovee, a cloud-based technology company on Amnicola Highway, is taking the LPGA to Spanish-speaking golf fans.

Golf’s Global Tour continues to embrace its international fan base with the launch of a Spanish Language website hosted by Sovee.

The LPGA has more than 20 players who speak Spanish from countries including Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Argentina.

Fans can visit the LPGA’s Spanish Language Web Site via LPGA.com/Espanol

“Golf is a truly borderless game and today’s announcement continues the LPGA’s global momentum with Spanish speaking fans,” said Brian Carroll, LPGA Vice President of Television and Emerging Media.

“Our goal with this site is to not only provide better LPGA content in Spanish, but also to better highlight our Spanish-speaking LPGA stars in their homelands.”

Key LPGA content including news, interview transcripts, player information, blogs and statistics will be dynamically translated from English to Spanish on a daily basis, by Sovee’s advanced Deciphr web tool.

“The women’s game is really growing in Spain and South America,” said 2010 Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year Azahara Munoz, a native of Spain. “All of us have many Spanish speaking followers on Facebook and Twitter, and that’s why we share our thoughts in both languages.”

Munoz was a member of the 2011 European Solheim Cup Team and became a Rolex First-Time Winner on the LPGA in 2012.
