Evelyn J. Grant, 90, of East Ridge, died on Tuesday, August 27, 2013.
Mrs. Grant was born in Wellington, AL, to Albert and Bessie Johnson. She was a member of Nixon Chapel Methodist Church in Nixon Chapel, AL, and the East Ridge Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Grant; her parents; and siblings, Milford Johnson, Malcolm Johnson, Lois Hill, Doris Hinton, Grady Johnson and Chula Brookshire.
Surviving are her children, Carlton (Rachel) Grant of Ringgold, Lee (Debbie) Grant of Ringgold, and Star (Jimmy) Brock of Chickamauga; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Merrell Johnson of Chattanooga, Blair (Nell) Johnson of Idaho Falls, ID, and Urban (Jean) Johnson of Birmingham.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28, at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 29, at Chattanooga Memorial Park, Red Bank, with Reverend Rick Ball officiating.
The family would like to thank Dr. Calvin Bryan for his love and compassion shown to Evelyn.
