A woman told police that her cellphone was grabbed while she was seated at a table at a downtown karaoke bar.
Pamela Lynch said she was at Sing It or Wing It near Fourth and Market when a black male took the phone and ran out the door. Her friend spotted him run up Fourth Street and get into an older-model Ford Explorer.
The vehicle was registered to a female who lives on Gillespie Road.

Police and emergency personnel responded to Poplar Street Court after an electrical worker received a severe shock.
They found George Lawson, employee of EBP subcontractor Elliott Electrical Contractors, on the ground. He was having difficulty breathing, was unresponsive and had a rapid pulse.
A co-worker was performing CPR on him.
By the time EMTs arrived, he was more responsive but still very disoriented.
He had touched some live wires.
EPB crews came to the scene and repaired the section of line.

James Donahue of E. 28th Street said someone stole his 1992 Chevy Silverado out of his driveway.
It has some readily identifiable marks.
The paint is peeling off both doors.
The letters SS are painted in red on both rear side quarter panels.

An officer checking Best Motors on W. 20th Street where there have been a number of thefts of batteries from vehicles spotted a hood up.
He looked inside and saw that the battery was gone.

Four women left their purses in their vehicle while partying at the Electric Cowboy on Brainerd Road.
When they returned to their vehicle they found that a window had been knocked out and all the purses were gone.
One had $300 inside.
A Droid cellphone was also among the items taken.

A woman who visited the Palms Club Social Club on Shallowford Road also found that a window was busted out on her vehicle.
Her purse is gone along with a number of other items, including debit and credit cards and her house keys.

A clerk at the Homewood Suites on Center Street said a customer called her to his room twice on issues of his TV not working correctly.
She said on the last visit he pulled out his penis and asked her if she "wanted some of this."
The clerk said as she left he told her she was "missing out on something good."
She summoned police and the guest was escorted from the hotel.

Police had to be called when a couple on Igou Crossing Road had a controversy about her picking up for him.
An officer was told that when the wife complained about the picking up that Ernest Duke told her to "shut up" - with an expletive added for emphasis.
Adrienne Duke told an officer that she "is not his mother."
The impasse was broken when Mr. Duke agreed to go to his mother's house for the night to cool off.
