Janet Morris Benefield, 58, died on October 23, 2014 at Erlanger Medical Center.

She was a graduate of Central High School and earned her undergraduate degree at UTC.

Janet worked at Erlanger Medical Center for 28 years and taught at Cleveland State. She attended Brainerd Hills Baptist Church. 

Surviving relatives are her husband, Brian Benefield, daughter, Kelly (Stephen) Carmichael, grandchildren, Elizabeth and Sean Carmichael; parents, Joseph and Joy Morris, sisters, Jayne and Julie Morris, sister-in-law, Sandra (Lamar) Goines, and nieces, Kim and Lisa Kinsey.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday Oct. 27, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Mason and Pastor Bill Mason officiating. The interment will follow in Lakewood Memory Gardens-East.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The American Diabetes Association, 4660 Old Broadway, Knoxville, Tn. 37918.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m., and on Monday, from 10-11 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
