St. John’s Restaurant, The Meeting Place and Flying Squirrel restaurants will give area residents an opportunity to mix fun and philanthropy on Nov. 4 and 11. The three restaurants will donate a percentage of their sales from these special nights to the 2014 Grateful Gobbler Walk, a 5K Walk held on Thanksgiving Day at 8 a.m. in Coolidge Park. 100% of the proceeds from the Walk will benefit the new Shelter for Homeless Families located onsite at the Community Kitchen on 11th Street in Chattanooga.
On
Nov.
4, St. John’s Restaurant and The Meeting Place, both on Market Street, will host Grateful Gobbler specials and donate a percentage of all sales from the evening to the Grateful Gobbler. And just one week later, on Veteran’s Day,
Nov. 11, owners of the Flying Squirrel at 55 Johnson Street in Chattanooga’s Southside will host the second Grateful Gobbler Night.
“We are tremendously grateful for the support and commitment received from the owners of The Meeting Place, St. John’s Restaurant, and the Flying Squirrel,” said Betsy McCright, race director for the 15th annual Grateful Gobbler Walk. “These events give individuals, some who may not be able to participate in the Walk on the Thanksgiving holiday, an opportunity to enjoy delectable food made by some of the best chefs in Chattanooga and at the same time support the Grateful Gobbler Walk.”
