Annice Raye Jernigan Wilford, 74, of Dalton, GA, died on Monday, November 24, 2014.
“Tate”, as she was lovingly known by her five grandchildren, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her personal faith in Jesus Christ was evidenced by her lifetime of loving and serving her family and others. Annice Raye was born to the late Rayburn and Hermie Jernigan, in New Albany, MS on January 13, 1940. She married Ned Wilford in 1967 and together were blessed with three children; Brince Wilford (Holly, George 4, Sloane 3), Shanna Nichols (Jeff, Tommy 2), and Kerrie Harless (Brian, Cameron 16, Beth 13).
Annice Raye dedicated her life to her family and loved being a stay-at-home mom. She was a devoted helpmate to her husband of 47 years, and showered her children with love, support and the teachings of God’s Word. She used her gift of hospitality by opening her home to friends for Bible study, dinner parties and overnight guests. She helped those in need, comforted those who mourned, prayed fervently for others, served friends and strangers alike, and loved well. Annice Raye is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator.
