Murfreesboro – Attend the 55th annual membership dinner: Music of the Blue and Grey – A Salute to Our Veterans dinner featuring music and dinner by Rick’s Barbeque 6 p.m. in Maney Hall at Oaklands Historic House Museum. Tickets are $25 and membership is not required.

Franklin – The 2014 Tennessee Civil War Sesquicentennial Signature Event will welcome internationally and nationally-acclaimed presenters as they discuss the battles, events and stories of the Civil War in Franklin and surrounding historic sites.

Memphis – The new exhibition, “Soul: Memphis’ Original Sound – Photographs by Thom Gilbert” will officially open with a reception and book signing 6-8 p.m. at the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. The event is free and open to the public.

Memphis – Christmas at Graceland is an annual event that has traditional lights and decorations, a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and much more originally displayed by Elvis.
Nashville – Gaylord Opryland’s “A Country Christmas” brings classic Christmas entertainment with sensational decorations, entertainment and some of the most delectable food anywhere. The event also features the Radio City Christmas Spectacular, ICE! and more.

Pikeville – Calling all explorers! Take a backpacking trip through 13 miles of the more remote portions of Fall Creek Falls State Park. There is a $10 fee and pre-registration is required. For more information, call 423-881-5708.

Nashville – A day of creativity, art-making, live music and performances will take place during the Family Festival Day 1-5:30 p.m. at the Frist Center for the Visual Arts. The event is free and open to the public.

Memphis – Kick off the holiday season at the Christmas Lighting Ceremony 6:30 p.m. at Elvis Presley’s Graceland. Special guests and Santa will be in attendance.

Gatlinburg – Attend the storytelling celebration, Tellabration! 2014 as storytellers perform live, family-friendly tales 2-4 p.m. at Sweet Fanny Adams.
Wartrace – A Holiday Open House will take place 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Tennessee Walking Horse National Museum.
Ripley – Vendors, food, and fun are on the agenda at the 2nd annual Holiday Extravaganza 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Calvary Hill Baptist Church.
