Walker County Sheriff's Office Participates In Operation Zero Tolerance

  • Wednesday, December 10, 2014

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Operation Zero Tolerance (OZT) Campaign beginning Friday and ending Jan. 1, 2015.  They will be stepping up efforts and targeting impaired drivers through concentrated patrols and sobriety checkpoints.

During this enforcement campaign, they will be working closely with other local law enforcement agencies in order to protect everyone from impaired drivers.  This is a campaign of zero tolerance to remind motorists that if they get caught driving impaired, they will be arrested and they will go to jail.

Officials said, "If you must drink, please have a designated driver."

Through this zero tolerance campaign, the Walker County Sheriff’s Office hopes to raise awareness in order to prevent traffic fatalities in Walker County this holiday season.
