David Powell Has Book Signing At Chickamauga Battlefield Dec. 27

Eastern National, a partner with the National Park Service, will host a book signing with author Dave Powell on Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.

Mr. Powell has authored multiple books, including The Maps of Chickamauga, Failure in the Saddle, and most recently, The Chickamauga Campaign: A Mad and Irregular Battle, from the Crossing of the Tennessee River through the Second Day, Aug. 22 – Sept. 19, 1863.  

Mr. Powell’s book signing will take place from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. He will also be conducting a special program entitled “Bragg vs. Rosecrans: Contrasts in Command” at 1 p.m. in the visitor center.  

Mr. Powell graduated in 1983 from the Virginia Military Institute with a B. A. in History.  He leads tours through the Chickamauga Battlefield on a regular basis.  In 2010, he received the Richard B. Harwell award from the Atlanta Civil War Round table.
