Special agents from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have obtained indictments for a Jamestown woman accused of killing her boyfriend’s elderly father.

At the request of 8th District Attorney General Jared Effler, TBI special agents began investigating the death of 88-year-old Clay York Sherrill on Nov. 24. Earlier that day, officers from the Jamestown Police Department discovered the victim’s body in his home on E. Mark Twain Avenue.

During the course of the investigation, agents, working alongside investigators from the Jamestown and Crossville police departments and the Fentress County and Cumberland County sheriff’s departments, developed information which led to Mr. Sherrill’s son’s girlfriend, Brandi Michelli Adams, as the individual believed to be responsible for the crime.

The Fentress County Grand Jury returned indictments on Tuesday for the 38-year-old, charging her with one count of first-degree murder during the perpetration of robbery and one count of first-degree murder during the perpetration of kidnapping. She was subsequently booked into the Fentress County Jail, where she was being held on a $1,000,000 bond.
