Soddy Daisy Man, 80, Who Was Burned When Pajamas Caught Fire Has Died

An 80-year-old Soddy Daisy man who was burned Monday morning when his pajamas caught fire has died.

Ralph Grissom had been taken to the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.

The incident happened about 7 a.m. at the Vista Ridge Apartments off of Card Road.

Mr. Grissom was warming himself in front of his stove with the eyes on the stove when his pajamas caught fire burning the right side of his body and his back. The man went to the shower to put the rest of the fire out.

Hamilton County EMS transported him to Erlanger Hospital.
