Tennessee Aquarium app program
Thanks to a new partnership with the Business Media Center at Tennessee Tech University, Tennessee Aquarium visitors have a new tool to help get the most out of their next visit.
Anyone planning an Aquarium adventure can begin by downloading the app free from either the iTunes Store or Google Play. This new tool is designed to help visitors coming to Chattanooga before, during and after touring the Aquarium’s two buildings and IMAX 3D Theater.
The new Tennessee Aquarium app, powered by Tennessee Tech University, contains ticket information, hours of operation, directions, FAQs and a campus map to help launch each journey. Once at the Aquarium, guests can schedule reminders about dive shows, animal presentations and keeper talks by scrolling through the programs tab. Visitors can also track and share their experience with friends as they travel from gallery to gallery.
During their visit, guests can become featured creatures by adding bird beaks, frog hands and other fun elements to their photos taken at the Aquarium. These wildly whacky images can easily be shared with family, friends or other Aquarium fans on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
On the way home, kids and parents might quiz each other to see how much information they soaked up about the Aquarium’s freshwater conservation efforts. If they pay attention to the information contained on exhibit graphic panels, they’ll be watershed whiz kids when they play the habitat game to match freshwater fish with the correct ecosystems.
Families will also be entertained by dialing up an Aquarium animal to hear their calls. Ever wonder what it sounds like when the Hyacinth Macaws start laughing? Barking Tree Frogs, American Alligators and Gentoo Penguins are among the critters waiting to be heard on the new app.
Special events will also be listed on the Aquarium app which will be especially helpful during Spring Break.
The Aquarium will once again offer Keeper Kids spring break activities free with Aquarium admission March 17 through April 20. Kids, ages six and up, may choose two of the 16 programs which are available daily on a first-come, first-served basis.
Each experience gives families a chance to explore behind the scenes to meet penguin experts, feed animals, get up close to baby seahorses or learn what it takes to care for giant freshwater fish, toothy sharks or tons of turtles.
