Kelly Allmon
Kelly L. Allmon, 84, died at his Hixson home on Tuesday, April 23, 2014.
Kelly graduated from Soddy Daisy High School and attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Allmon retired from Allmon Trucking.
He was a member of the John Henry Peirce Lodge, the Alhambra Shrine, and his beloved Red Fez Club. He was also a charter member of the O’Possum Creek Shrine Club. Mr. Allmon loved being a Shriner. He drove crippled and burned children to hospitals for treatment, with over 100,000 safe miles, before stopping.
Survivors include his wife of 50 plus years, Betty Evans Allmon; sons, Mitchell (Mary) and Michael Todd (Donna); grandchildren, Mitch and Melissa; and three great-granddaughters.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, April 24, from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, from 1-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
