Smith, Barbara Ann Duckett (Sequatchie)

Barbara Ann Duckett Smith, 71, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her home following a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer.

A public school teacher for 16 years, retiring in 2013, she was a member of the Conns Creek Baptist Church in Ball Ground, Ga., and was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Evard Duckett.

She is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Wayne Smith of Sequatchie; daughter, Stephanie Hemond (Craig Wilson) of Cumming, Ga.; son, Jeffery Wayne (Amy) Smith of Jasper, Ga.; mother, Kathleen Duckett of Jasper; grandsons, Tony Kellogg of Jasper, Jim Cook of Atlanta, Gauge and Daxx Hemond of Connecticut and Justin Wayne Smith of Jasper; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held in the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, April 26.
