Venue Church Hosts 1st Annual Easter Egg Drop

  • Friday, April 4, 2014

In anticipation of its first Easter worship experiences on Sunday, April 20, Venue Church – led by Pastor Tavner Smith – will host the first annual Venue Church Easter Egg Drop on Saturday, from 1 5 p.m. at Camp Jordan, 315 Camp Jordan Road in East Ridge.

A helicopter will release thousands of Easter eggs at three intervals – 2 p.m., 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. The event includes additional family fun activities such as a petting zoo, bounce houses, face painting, pony rides and give-a-ways including a PlayStation 4, an iPad Mini and a 40” television, among other prizes. Admission is free. Pre-registration is available at www.TheVenueChurch.com.

The idea for the Easter Egg Drop was conceived to further connect Venue Church with the Chattanooga community and create an annual event families can enjoy and adopt as a tradition.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to provide a free event for families to enjoy together, as well as integrating Venue Church into the fabric of the community,” said Pastor Smith.

Mr. Smith is so dedicated to the first annual Easter egg drop event he even sold his truck to raise funds. “Radical giving is one of the core values of Venue Church, and I believe this event will make a positive impact on many lives, so I was happy to be the first to contribute,” Mr. Smith said.

Since its October 2013 launch, Venue Church has quickly made its mark as a consistently growing church in Chattanooga. The average weekly attendance is 350, attendance has increased by 30 percent in the last month and many Chattanoogans now call themselves Venue Church members. The growth has demanded in an increase in its weekly worship experiences: beginning Easter Sunday, Venue Church will add a third worship experience every Sunday.

“We’re so grateful for how warmly we’ve been welcomed to Chattanooga,” said Pastor Smith. “We love people right where they are, and God does His thing each week. Marriages, finances, work situations…people are seeing them improve and they can’t stay quiet about it. The proof is in the increased attendance every week. People are talking about Venue Church, and they’re hungry for a different kind of church experience. It is our honor and privilege to facilitate people living out God’s very best life for them.”
