Re-elect Judge Christie Sell - And Response (2)

  • Tuesday, June 24, 2014

On Aug. 7, voters in Hamilton County have the opportunity to re-elect an outstanding judge in Christie Sell.

Judge Sell is respected for her commitment to the community and the bench, as well as for her fairness and firmness. She has served diligently during her eight years in General Sessions Court and is recognized as one of the best judges in Hamilton County. She has received a statewide leadership award for her work for domestic violence awareness and numerous other awards, including recognition for her integrity and distinguished service as an elected Fellow by both the Chattanooga and Tennessee Bar Associations.

A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Judge Sell has always been very active in our community.  Recently, she received recognition for her service as a Woman of Distinction by the American Lung Association, is a member of several service clubs, including the Rotary Club of Chattanooga and serves on numerous boards, including the Chattanooga Women's Leadership Institute and Chattanooga Bar Association.

Hamilton County is fortunate to have someone of Judge Christie Sell's ability and experience in
this position. Please join me in voting to re-elect Christie Sell on Aug. 7.

As our General Session Court Judge, Christie Mahn Sell has demonstrated the skills of an effective judge.  Judge Sell knows the law.  She has a keen sense of fairness and compassion.  Importantly, she has a strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills.

In addition, she has been proactive in helping to establish programs such as the dedicated domestic violence court that benefit the judicial system and the community as a whole.

It is very understandable that she received a favorable rating from over 99 percent of the participating lawyers of the Chattanooga Bar Association.

Please vote to re-elect Judge Sell.  We need her as a member of our General Session Court.

Judge Christie Sell has that unique ability, a sixth sense if you will, to know when to be compassionate and when to dispense the punishment one deserves. That is a valuable talent to have for someone sitting behind that bench.

I, a retired police officer after serving 26 years, have never heard an officer complain when their cases fell on her docket.  You just can't argue when someone is being fair and just.  She has my vote.
