Bernice Ruth Brooks Jackson, 89, of Chickamauga, Georgia, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014.

She was born in DeKalb County, Alabama to the late James "Jim" and Molly Ethel Hinton Brooks. She lived most of her life in Chickamauga where she was a former employee of Crystal Springs Bleachery. She also worked at the following textile mills: E.T. Barwick, Buccaneer and Galaxy. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Chickamauga. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her 11 siblings and her husband; Arthur King Jackson.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Wesley and Lynn Jackson of Chickamauga; grandsons, Christopher (Lori) Jackson of Lexington, Ky., Patrick (Catherine) Jackson of Decatur, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Lilith Ann Jackson, Henry Augustus Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, and Friday morning, prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Ministers Ron Taylor and Amos Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Chickamauga Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes – Chickamauga Chapel.
