Herron, Billly Joe (Cleveland)

Billy Joe Herron, 79, of Cleveland, TN, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 16, 2014 at the family residence. 

Mr. Herron was the son of the late Sena Smith Herron and Willie Dewey “W. D.” Herron; and was also preceded in death by his sister, Margaret McDonald; and his brother, Calvin Herron.

Mr. Herron was a U. S. Army Veteran serving in Korea. He was the Superintendent for Battlefield Golf and Country Club for over 20 years. Along with his brother he owned and operated Herron’s Golf Carts. He was a member of the Stuart Park Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vina Parker Herron of Cleveland; his daughters, Cyndi Holtsclaw and her husband Dee of New York City and Sandra Johnson and her husband Eddie of Cleveland; his son, Chris Herron and his wife Lynne of Benton; his grandchildren, Jenifer Williams and her husband Shaun, Amy Herron, Bethany Holtsclaw, Erik Holtsclaw, Leah Thompson and her husband Michael, Kevin Johnson and his wife Heidi and Brandon Sprague and his wife Mary Beth; his six great-grandchildren; his sisters, Edna Guinn and her husband J. W. of Chattanooga, Edith Rollins and Joyce Moser and her husband Clint all of Cleveland; his brothers, W. S. Herron of Phillips Ranch, CA, Coy Herron and his wife Linda of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Friday, July 18 at 3 p.m. from the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Reverend Daniel Malone and Reverend Teresa Norman officiating. Interment will follow in the Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Shaun Williams, Michael Williams, Michael Thompson, Erik Holtsclaw, Kevin Johnson, Mark Herron and Rick Rollins serving as casket bearers. Military honors will be given. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 17 at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes who has charge of the arrangements.
