Ruth Lenore Butcher, 87, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Tuesday morning, August 26, 2014 at her home.
Ruth was born November 5, 1926 in Brookville, OH to the late Walter & Grace Share. Ruth served her country as a cadet nurse in the Nursing Corps. She was of the Methodist faith and a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church. Ruth loved to quilt and was active in her church quilting group. Most of all she was loving wife, mother and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Butcher; one sister, Beatrice Martin; and two brothers, Glenn Share and Oscar Share.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 66 years, Charles Butcher; one daughter, Mae Elizabeth Butcher; one son, Daniel Butcher and his wife Sandra; three grandsons, David Christian Butcher, Garrett Butcher and Cameron Butcher; and numerous other extended family members, church family and special friends.
The family will hold memorial and committal service in the memory gardens at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church located at 3405 Peerless Road in Cleveland TN on Thursday, August 28 at 6 p.m. with the Reverend Ramon Torres officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to either the building fund of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research.
