NAACP Meets Tuesday

The Chattanooga-Hamilton County NAACP will hold a general membership meeting on Tuesday, 6 p.m. at Glenwood Recreation Center.

They will commemorate Constitution Day by reviewing how "Civic Engagement and Civil Disobedience effects us everyday." This is a component of the NAACP, Know Your Rights.  

Also, they will discuss expansion of the Moral Monday Coalition, education concerns, delegates to the state convention, and begin the branch election process by electing the nominating committee. 

The Tennessee State Conference NAACP has informed the local office that they will be the recipient of the State's Political Action Award, which is to be given at the Tennessee NAACP state Convention Saturday. NAACP National President Cornell Williams Brooks will be the featured speaker at the Freedom Fund Gala that night.
