McCallie Hosts Cross-Country Invitational Saturday

The McCallie cross-country team will host the McCallie Invitational on Saturday.  Races will be held on the grounds of Moccasin Bend Hospital.   A number of top teams from Tennessee, Georgia and Kentucky will run.   North Hall is ranked number 1 in Georgia and Louisville Trinity is a top team in Kentucky.  Top teams from Knoxville are Farragut and Webb.  Montgomery Bell is the defending Nashville Metro Champions.

Other strong programs include Oak Ridge, South Forsyth, Maryville and Baylor.  The individual boy’s race is wide open with a number of front runners in the field.  In the girl’s race South Forsyth from Atlanta, Knoxville Webb and Harpeth Hall from Nashville lead an impressive field.  

The individual girl’s race will be a battle as Savannah Carnahan of South Forsyth, Peighton Meske of Webb and freshman phenom Rebecca Story from Christian Academy of Knoxville will threaten the 18:00 min. barrier.  The McCallie boys are back to back Tennessee State Champions.  20 teams and 600 athletes are scheduled to compete.
