Willkommen To Rock City's 9th Annual German Festival

  • Monday, September 29, 2014
Rock City invites the public to celebrate fall on the mountain with gorgeous scenery and a festival atmosphere honoring Rock City’s German heritage. Rocktoberfest opens this Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at Rock City and continues every Saturday and Sunday throughout the month.

This year, kids can set out on a scavenger hunt in search of the Fall Fairy’s magical home. Once found, she rewards the children with a surprise. Other activities available are pumpkin painting, Fairyland Forest makeovers, panning for gems, the Climbing Wall, interacting with a mime and a Birds of Prey' show.

There will be live German music from bands like The Wurstbrats, The Oompahsters and Die Mitternaechters.
Guests can also enjoy polka lessons and the chicken dance in the pavilion, listen to Ik the Troll King tell stories and try some German food like bratwursts and homemade sauerkraut.

Rock City Gardens continues to partner with the MaryEllen Locher Foundation honoring breast cancer awareness month in October. Several pink products including Survivor birdhouses and ornaments are on sale, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the organization and their scholarship program.
