St. Timothy's Hosts Celtic Eucharist This Sunday

  • Monday, September 8, 2014

St. Timothy's will host a Celtic Eucharist this Sunday, at the 9:15 service for some Celtic music and fun. The guest musician, Christopher Buckley, will be playing bagpipes and leading the congregation through a unique musical journey.

Br. Christopher Buckley was born to a musical family in the hills ofOregon.  His multi-instrumental talents showed at an early age and, upon learning of his family's Irish and Scottish roots, he took to playing Celtic songs and found a musical home.  He is a Brother in the Anamchara Fellowship, an Episcopal dispersed religious community.

Of his vocation, he says, "God has given me generous and un-earned musical gifts.  The only thing I can do, in good conscience, is to give those gifts right back to Him and His people!  I see music as an integral piece of my monastic vocation - my vows strengthen and challenge my spirit, and that growth can deepenthe well of song in our common life."
