Robert “Ben” Swallows, 60, of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday morning, January 14, 2015 at the family residence.
He was also preceded in death by his father, George Ray Swallows.
Ben, as he was affectionately called, worked as a forklift mechanic with Bailey Equipment with 16 years of service. He enjoyed fishing and refurbishing old cars. Ben attended the Samples Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Swallows of Cleveland; his daughter, Sondra Fowler; his step- daughters, Stacey Smith, Rhonda Waugh, Sheena Nation, one step son Shannon Wisner, 15 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; his mother, Jaye Ratcliff; sisters, Robbie Heath, Rosemary Floyd Ables and Risa Barton; his brother, Rod Swallows all of Cleveland; special aunt, Pauline Swallows; special cousins, John Swallows and Shirley Harris; and several nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, January 17 at the Wildwood Ave. Chapel of the Jim Rush funeral homes with Pastor Mark Cameron officiating. The interment will follow in the Moore’s Chapel cemetery.
