Larry Darrell Mulkey, 69, of Soddy Daisy, died on Monday, January 26, 2015 at his residence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Darrell and Irene Mulkey and his brother and sister-in-law, David and Brenda Mulkey.
He is survived his wife of 17 years, Gail Dean Mulkey; his daughter, Jenny Giddens; his niece Pam (Buddy) Mulkey Edwards; great-niece Whitney (Blake) LeMay; great-great-nephew, Brayden LeMay and countless friends.
Larry was a retired lieutenant from the Chattanooga Police Department. After his career was cut short by injury, he went on to found Therm-con, Inc., a fire proofing business. Larry was able to grow Therm-Con into a multi-specialty sub-contracting business that served general contractors and cabinetmakers for more than 25 years and is still serving customers across the Tri-State area. Deciding retirement was not for him, Larry and two of his friends founded Kingwood Auto Sales and McKenzie Finance, where he continued to work as the chief financial officer.

A visitation will be held starting at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, followed by a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home.
Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
