Zachary Asher Barnett, 25, died on October 11, 2015, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Zach was born and raised in Asheville, N.C. He was home-schooled through eighth grade, graduated from Asheville Christian Academy, and attended Covenant College. Recently, he was a truck driver for Covenant Transport and resided in Chattanooga.

Zach was extremely intelligent and creative, and loved art and music.  He was kind, gentle, and generous, with a quirky sense of humor.  He was devoted to his family, and his family was devoted to him.  

He is survived by his parents, Tim and Dona (Davenport) Barnett, and five siblings, Elnathan Barnett, Sara Elsbeth Blackman (Brian), Noah Barnett (Miriam), Isaac Barnett (Renee), and Abigail Barnett. He is also survived by his grandmothers, Sue Miller Barnett and Dorothy M. Davenport, eight aunts, eight uncles, one nephew, six nieces, and 27 cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, at East Ridge Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Travis Hutchinson officiating.  Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery in St. Elmo. 

The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at Wann Funeral Home.
