Christians United for Israel, along with churches in North Georgia and the Greater Chattanooga area, invite the community to a “Night to Honor Israel” on Thursday, Nov. 12, 7 p.m. at the Colonnade, 264 Catoosa Circle, in Ringgold.  The purpose of this event is to show solidarity between Jewish people and Christians in their support of Israel.  The event is open to the public.  There is no cost to attend.  A complimentary reception will follow the event. All people are welcome regardless of religion or denomination.

Dignitaries participating in the event include David Brog, Head of Campus Maccabees, an organization aiming to combat the boycott, divestment and sanctions movement on campuses around the United States, and board member of Christians United for Israel.  The  Deputy Consul General from Israel to Southeastern United States, Ron Brummer will speak.  Additional out-of-town guests include five Israeli Defense Force soldiers, and Pastor Lyndon Allen, Central Regional coordinator, Christians United for Israel.  Pastor Victor Styrsky, Eastern Regional coordinator for Christians United for Israel, Georgia Lieutenant Governor Casey Cagle and Georgia State Senator Jeff Mullis will also be present.

Participating community members include: Michael Dzik, executive director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga; Rabbi Susan Tendler, Bnai Zion Congregation, and Noa Hadad, Israeli Cultural Emissary with the Jewish Federation of Greater Chattanooga. Each will give their perspective on Israel.  Pastor Bret Yaeger, Temple Baptist Church in Dalton, will serve as the Master of Ceremonies.

Local participation includes musical presentations by the Scenic City Chorale of Chattanooga.  The ROTC from Ringgold High School will act as the Color Guard.  Scouts from the Cherokee Area Council Boy Scouts of America will serve as parking attendants and ushers.   The planning committee for the local CUFI area consists of members from Chattanooga and North Georgia and includes both Christians and Jewish people.
