Dr. Jackson Katz will speak at the Women’s Fund of Greater Chattanooga’s third annual Voices Luncheon on Wednesday.

Dr. Katz is known for his work in gender violence prevention education.  He is co-founder of the Mentors in Violence Prevention program, a sexual assault and relationship abuse prevention program for schools, sports culture and the military.  The MVP program encourages young men and women from all socioeconomic, racial and ethnic backgrounds to take on leadership roles and focuses on the innovative “bystander” model that empowers each student to take an active role in promoting a positive climate.

Through his work on issues of gender and violence, Dr. Katz has touched millions of college and high school students and well as professionals in education, human services, and public health and law enforcement.

The luncheon will be Wednesday from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Stratton Hall.

Proceeds from the event support the advocacy and philanthropy of the Women’s Funder of Greater Chattanooga including work with its legislative delegation on passage of laws to protect and advance women and children, the Nightingale Network for giving and grant-making, and partnerships with aligned organizations supporting the safety and empowerment of women.
