CCS Wins 28-14 At Copper Basin

 Both teams amassed almost 250 yards total offense Friday night but the Chargers of CCS outscored Copper Basin 28-14 to earn their sixth win of the season. 

Both teams matched each other the first quarter with CCS scoring first on a 24 yard pass from Matthew Mercer to Will Patton.  Copper Basin tied the game at seven after Peyton Sosebee scored from eight yards out.  

CCS would score the next three touchdowns to put the game at of reach.   Mercer connected with Nick Fulmer for a 25 yard touchdown in the second quarter and TJ Smith scored on a 61 yard run to give CCS a 21-7 halftime lead. 

CCS opened the 3rd quarter scoring with a 10 yard run by DJ Toney. 

Copper Basin scored late in the game on a four yard run by Jackson Ledford. 

CCS had 171 yards rushing and 73 passing.  Copper Basin had  244 yard rushing and nine yards passing. 

Matthew Mercer was six of eight for 74 yards.  TJ Smith rushed for 76 yards on four carries.  DJ Toney had 60 yards on 10 carries.  

Copper Basin's Peyton Sosebee rushed for 113 yards on 25 carries and Jackson Ledford had 88 yards on 23 carries.  

Copper Basin will play at Tennessee Christian next week and CCS will host Red Bank.
