Deonte James, 21, was shot late Sunday afternoon.
At approximately 5 p.m. Chattanooga Police responded to the 1100 block of Tunnel Boulevard on the report of a person shot. There police located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Further investigation revealed that the shooting took place near the intersection of Wilcox Boulevard and Greenwood Road. After being shot, the victim was driven by personal vehicle to the 1100 block of Tunnel Boulevard. The victim was transported by emergency personnel from there to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS.
No suspect information is available at this time.
James is suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the chest.
