James “J.B.” Boydston, Jr., 98, of Trenton, Georgia, died on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
He retired from TVA after 17 years working in the maintenance department at Widow’s Creek. Mr. Boydston served his country as a Navy Veteran serving during WWII from ’42 to ’45. He was a charter member of Sand Mountain United Methodist Church, was a master gardener, and enjoyed being outdoors spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Verda Brukhart Boydston, Sr.; and his eight siblings.
Surviving include his loving wife of 63 years, Betty Alice Boydston of Trenton, GA; daughter, Verda Alice (Tom) Black; sons, James Arthur (Sandy) Boydston and Joel Birch Boydston, all of Trenton, GA; four grandsons, James Arthur Boydston, Jr., Jesse Birch Boydston, James Harold Black and Thomas Andrew Black; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at Browns’ Gap Cemetery with military honors and Rev. Reece Fauscett officiating.
