TechTown And Chattanooga Public Library Sponsor Spring Break Camp

  • Tuesday, February 17, 2015

Following up the more than 500 students attending a one-day technology pop-up camp on Jan. 19 at the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, TechTown and Chattanooga Public Library have collaborated on a TechTown Spring Break Camp.

The camp will take place March 30 – April 3 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on the 4th Floor of the Chattanooga Public Library, 1001 Broad St.  Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided. The cost is $179 per camper.

This experience will include videography, circuitry and robotics recommended for students aged 10 to 17 and is limited to 70 participants. These hands-on learning opportunities allows students to build, play with and safely experiment with robotics and circuitry as well as filming and editing their creations.

"We know the interest level among students for technology camps is high and during the spring break lots of parents are still working,” said Cordell Carter, TechTown CEO. “These camps will be fun, kids will learn at their own pace and meet new people. Our instructional focus is on self-guided learning and letting kids engage with the tools we provide. We help kids to experience the latest technology that they wouldn’t generally be able to access.”
