  • Tuesday, February 24, 2015

For the past six months, twenty-five girls from grades 3-12 have dedicated countless hours serving the Chattanooga community in efforts to compete in the 2015 Jabberwock Scholarship Pageant. The fruits of the girls’ labor will be determined on Sunday, March 8 when the contestant who raised the most money and devoted the highest number of community service hours will be crowned Miss Jabberwock. The pageant, presented by the Chattanooga Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. and DeSTI (Delta Serving Together, Inc.) will be held at 4 p.m. at the Tivoli Theatre.

“Jabberwock, a triennial pageant, serves as an avenue to garner funds for scholarships for higher education and numerous community projects and programs presented by Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc” said Angel McGee-Ulmer, Jabberwock’s publicity chairwoman “The winner will be determined by who raises the most funds and this fundraising element is an example of the training that the young ladies receive in terms of service and giving back to the community.”

Tickets to the elegant affair are $30 for adults and $10 for students. To purchase tickets or to purchase an ad in the Jabberwock Souvenir Booklet, call 423-309-1827.
