Garland Morris
Garland Lee Morris, 62, of Rossville, died on Saturday, March 7, 2015, at his home.
A native of Chattanooga, he was a police officer and chief of police in the late 70s through the late 80s in Alabama. He most recently was a security guard at Hutcheson Medical Center. He loved being with his family, especially his five grandchildren. He liked to fish, watching TV (Shark Tank), telling jokes and loved eating mayonnaise on everything.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Morris; son, Anthony G. Morris; his parents, Cecil and Charlotte Morris; and brother, Anthony Morris.
Survivors include his sons, Christopher (Konni) Wells and John (Marian) Hoskins; daughters, Chantel (Jeff) Burt and Jennifer (John) Swoda; sisters, Cheryl (Jim) Hanson, Anastasia Morris and Chiquita Morris; brother, Donnie Watkins; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; ex-wife, Elaine Morris and special friend, Shirley Lindsey.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13, in the chapel with the Reverend Tim Turnipseed officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 12, from 4-8 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour.
