Fire Damages Business In Collegedale Wednesday Night

A fire damaged a business in Collegedale Wednesday night.

 

At 9 p.m., a 911 call was made reporting a commercial fire at Newcome Springs, Inc.

at 9300 Springhill Drive.

 

The Tri-Community Volunteer Fire Department responded and reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the roofline. Tri-Community VFD immediately requested a mutual aid response to assist it.

 

The East Ridge Fire Department, Highway 58 VFD and Catoosa County Fire Department responded with additional manpower, apparatus and to stand by in their district for additional emergency calls.

 

Firefighters entered the building to find fire showing in and around the duct work for the two heat treating ovens. The fire was extinguished within minutes.

 

The cause of the fire will be determined by the Tri-Community VFD Fire Marshall’s Office. Fire officials report damages listed at $10,000.

 

No injuries were reported, but Hamilton County EMS was on the scene for any potential injuries to the firefighters.
