Cleveland State Cougars Can't Hang On Against Walters State

Walters State scored six runs in the top of the ninth upending Cleveland State at Cougar Field.

The Cougars' Jake Wyrick pitched eight innings and took a 4-3 lead into the ninth before being pulled after walking the first batter.

The Senators took advantage of Cleveland State's relievers with third baseman Jarrett Hood leading the charge.

 Hood hit his second home run of the game in the final inning driving in three runs.

Walters State's Andrew Gist pitched eight innings allowing four earned runs to pick up the victory.  Pitcher Jake Usher shut the Cougars down in the ninth.

Today's loss makes it five straight for the Cougars (12-12, 3-9).

Cleveland State (12-12, 3-9) hosts Walters State in a double header tomorrow at Cougar Field with first pitch scheduled for 12 p.m.
