John Daniel Thacker, 78, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

John was born to John and Lela Thacker on Feb. 20, 1937. He was the ninth child in a family of 10 children. John moved from Lexington, KY, to Chattanooga. He  was the owner of AABCO Auto Rebuilders since 1969. John and Jean are members of The Ministry Center since 1969.

John was preceded in death by his son, Michael Thacker; parents, John and Lela Thacker; five brothers, George, James, Harry, Henry and Joseph Thacker; four sisters, Dorothy, Ruby, Henrietta and Juanita.

John is survived by his wife, Jean Thacker; sons, Mark (Sheila) and Matthew (Janet); five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-grandaughters, and one step great-granddaughter.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home-North Chapel, and Sunday, from 1-3 p.m.

Funeral services for John will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow to Chattanooga Memorial Park.

Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
