Fleetwood Coffee Brand To Be Revived After George McGee Acquires Patent Held By His Grandfather

  • Friday, March 6, 2015

The Fleetwood Coffee brand will be revived after local businessman George McGee obtained the patent that was held by the founder - his grandfather, Henry King.

Mr. McGee is working in association with Jennifer Stone of Stone Cup Roasting Company, which has arranged to grind, roast and package the new Fleetwood offering at its facility on Riverside Drive.

Fleetwood was once a well-known brand, but it went off the market after being bought by Coca-Cola, which later dropped the coffee line.

The Fleetwood building where the coffee was once produced still stands on 11th Street at King Street. It is being renovated for residential and commercial.

Henry King had named his coffee company after Fleetwood Drive on Lookout Mountain.
