Greathen Isom, 92, of Cleveland, TN, died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.

She lived most of her life in Meigs County before moving to Bradley County in 1990. She was well-known for her cooking, especially her fried chicken. She was loved by a host of family and friends. She was an active member of Cloverleaf Baptist Church until her health kept her from attending.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul V. “Red” Isom Sr.; her parents, Sam Robinson and Mable Robinson Bain and step-father Pearl Bain; brothers, Jessie Robinson and G.W. “Doc” Robinson; sisters, Ethel Godsey and Evelina Sanders; son-in-law, Robert Casteel; grandsons, Paul Bryan Thomason and John Paul Isom; and great-granddaughter, Emma Nykkole Holt.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Jane Casteel of Cleveland and Betty Thomason and her husband Richard of Decatur; her son, Paul V. Isom Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Cleveland; her grandchildren, Ronnie Castell and his wife Rachel, Randy Castell and his wife Leslie, Diane Adams and her husband David, Ritch Thomason, Paula Rose and her husband Ronnie and Bethany Holt and her husband James; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pauline Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 16 at the Wildwood Ave. Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Rev. Steve Davis and Rev. Richard Watson officiating.

The interment will be at 11a.m. Friday, April 17 at Goodfield Cemetery in order for her friends in Meigs County to be able to attend. Rev. Junior Burger and Rev. Russ Coffey will officiate. Casket bearers will be Tony Tinsley, Jerry Wilson, Ronnie Casteel, Randy Casteel, Ronnie Rose and David Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Colbaugh, Calvin Colbaugh, Melvin Colbaugh, Jimmy Colbaugh, Raymond Colbaugh, Lynn Colbaugh, Kenneth Colbaugh, Harles Colbaugh and Franklin Colbaugh. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 16 from 5-7 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home, who has charge of the arrangements.
