It is National Poetry Month and Brainerd High School welcomes special guest poet and playwright, Brandon Real T@lk Williams, to speak about life, success and the arts for one of the last events of the school year this Friday

Although a graduate of Peoria High School, Mr.
Williams has been making his rounds beyond the Midwest throughout the eastern and southern part of the United States with potent poetry and a delectable delivery second-to-none.  In February 2012, "Real T@lk" was invited to perform for Outkast's Andre3000 at his Atlanta home. Andre called Real a "lyrical scientist."

Hailing from Peoria, Illinois, poet/emcee Real T@lk is changing the world one rhyme at a time! He has most recently come off of Big Boi's "Shoes For Running World Tour" this past Fall. In the December 2009 issue he was named “Unsigned Hype” by The Source Magazine. He has also performed at over 50 college campuses across the nation including Howard University, Morehouse College, and Fisk University (to name a few), not to mention his exciting performance on stage in Austin, TX at SXSW.

He is currently working on his sixth audio project featuring industry artists and producers Organized Noize Productions, DJ Toomp, DJ Cutmaster Swiff and a few other ATL natives. Williams holds a Bachelors in Journalism-Advertising from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Brianerd High School is at 1020 North Moore Road, Chattanooga. Phone: 423 855-2615.
