Robert Louis Rutledge, 66, of Chattanooga, died on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at his residence. 

He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Vietnam War as a military police officer. He was formerly employed by Quaker Oats. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Annie Bea Rutledge; wife, Emma Rutledge; brothers, Napoleon, Sonny, and Edward Rutledge. 

He is survived by his daughter, Niki Rutledge; sons, James Rutledge and Joseph Rutledge, all of Chattanooga; six grandchildren; brothers, Frederick Rutledge of Chattanooga and William Rutledge of California; step-children, Jackie, Cynthia, and Curtis; nine step-grandchildren; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives, and friends. 

He will lie in state on Monday, April 27, after 12:30 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. 

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 28, at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel with Pastor Larry Jones as the eulogist. Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
