Jack Colquitt
Jack Bradford Colquitt of Daphne, Alabama, died on April 26, 2015, in Thomas Hospital in Fair Hope, Alabama, after a long illness.
Mr. Colquitt attended prep school in Chattanooga, and received a textile engineering degree from Auburn University.
While at Auburn, Mr. Colquitt was a member of Sigma Chi Social Fraternity and Phi Psi Honorary Fraternity. He served as president of the Chattanooga Auburn Club.
Mr. Colquitt’s military service was with the Air Force.
He spent many years in the chemical, dye, and pigment industry and was a member of several professional organizations and societies.
Mr. Colquitt is survived by his wife, Laura Anne Beck Colquitt, daughter, Blakeslee Ann Colquitt, sons, Lt. Colonel (Retired) Jack B. Colquitt Jr., of Niceville, FL, and Christopher E. Colquitt of Semmes, AL, and five grandchildren, Jonathan David Colquitt, Anna Caroline Colquitt, Katherine Grace Colquitt, Emily Hope Colquitt, and Alexander Hampton Colquitt.
In the past few years, he was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Colquitt was an active member of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, AL. Visitation in Daphne will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 at the church on Saturday, May 2.
A second visitation will be held in Chattanooga, on Saturday, May 9, at Wann Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or Baldwin County Habitat for Humanity.
